Serbia Leader in National ML Risk Assessment

Serbian delegation on the Council of Europe MoneyVal Committee continues with successful work. Serbia is amongst the first countries to undergo a national money laundering risk assessment. On 6 July 2012, at the invitation of the MoneyVal Committee, Mr Aleksandar Vujičić, director of the Serbian financial intelligence unit and head of Serbia’s delegation in MoneyVal, held a presentation on Serbia’s achievements to date in the national risk assessment process, which is implemented according to the World Bank methodology. He spoke about the benefits of such a comprehensive process of collecting and analysing data the purpose of which is to obtain a thorough insight into the state of affairs of the Serbian AML system, but he also presented challenges faced by all the countries that are required to undertake a national risk assessment.
