Public Discussion on the Draft Law on Asset Freezing for the Purposes of Preventing Terrorism

On 22 May 2012 a public disussion was held on the Draft Law on Asset Freezing for the Purposes of Preventing Terrorism, with the participation of the members of the working groups which made the draft – coming from the Administration, Ministry of Jusitice, Ministry of Interior and State Prosecutor’s Office, closely working with the Council of Euroope and OSCE experts. This law will implement the former FATF SR III, which relates to terrorist asset freezing, which is nowadays reflected in R. 6 (Revised FATF Recommendations). In addition to the working group members mentioned above,  also taking part in the public discussion were representatives of the Supreme Court of Cassation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Security Information Agency, commercial banks, Bank Association of Serbia, as well as the US Ministry of Justice – ICITAP and the European Commission.
